Apr 17, 2017· We demonstrate the generation of high-quality narrowband biphotons from a Doppler-broadened hot rubidium atomic vapor cell. Choosing a double-Λ atomic energy level scheme for optimizing both spontaneous four-wave mixing nonlinear parametric interaction and electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT), we achieve a biphoton spectral brightness as high as 14 000 s −1 MHz −1.saturation power for a hot rubidium vapor (vapor temperature of 100 C) coupled to a TNF. The saturation calculation assumes an intrinsic saturation intensity of 1:5mW=cm2 and a Doppler width of 575 MHz for the bulk vapor. FIG. 1 (color online). Mar 26, 2008· We report on the experimental realization of the storage of images in a hot vapor of Rubidium atoms. The images are stored in and retrieved from the long-lived ground state atomic coherences. We show that an image impressed onto a 500 ns pulse can be stored and retrieved up to $30text{ }text{ }ensuremath{mu}mat{s}$ later. The image storage is made robust to diffusion by …ghost images in hot atomic rubidium vapor. Since ghost imaging requires (quantum or classical) multimode spatial correlation between two beams of light, our experiment shows that the spatially multimode correlation, a second-order correlation property of light, can indeed be preserved during the storage-retrieval process.
